Steve Wheeler is a multifaceted musician known for his roles as a guitarist, vocalist, producer, composer, and audio engineer. As one of the founding members of several bands, including Over Easy, Rock-it-Science, and The Steven Wayne Plouffe Band, he has made a significant impact on the music scene. Steve’s songwriting prowess shines through in the majority of the original compositions performed by his bands, showcasing a diverse range of genres that include Blues, Rock and Roll, Funk, and even a touch of modern Country. With decades of live performance experience under his belt, Steve brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to his musical endeavors, enriching the sound and energy of his bands.
Wayne Naylor is a seasoned multi-instrumentalist, vocalist, and composer with more than 50 years of experience in the music industry, spanning a wide array of genres including Rock, Blues, Jazz, and more. His extensive background includes playing in numerous bands, notably as a member of the national touring and recording act, The Enerjets, as well as with Dan Schmitt and the Shadows.
In 1993, Wayne teamed up with jazz legend Gap Mangione to form Gap’s New Blues Band, performing hundreds of shows over a remarkable 25-year partnership, which also included work with Gap’s Blues Band and Big Band. He has had the honor of sharing the stage with renowned musician Chuck Mangione at special events, further solidifying his impressive music credentials.
Wayne is featured as the bassist on John Bolger’s 2016 CD release and regularly performs with Blues Legend Steve Grills, along with various other bands in the Western New York region, filling in for live shows and recording sessions. Renowned for his killer sound, Wayne is especially known for his artistry on the six-string bass, which he masterfully showcases during his performances.
Thomas Homer is a versatile multi-instrumentalist and vocalist known for his contributions to the band through his skills on keyboards and trumpet, as well as his engaging vocals. With decades of live performance experience, he has showcased his musical talents across various styles in both duos and full band formats.
Tom views his musical journey as a way to make up for lost time, drawing on the foundation built from childhood piano lessons and a solid college education. Now, in his post-retirement phase, he is passionately pursuing his goals of playing exceptional music alongside talented musicians. His enthusiasm and dedication to music shine through in his performances, making him a valued member of the Steven Wayne Band
Charlie Avino is a seasoned musician with a rich history that dates back to 1968 when he first started playing drums and percussion in fifth grade. Over the years, he has been involved in numerous bands, showcasing his talent not only as a percussionist but also as a vocalist. Primarily focusing on rock ‘n’ roll, Charlie’s extensive experience includes writing and recording several albums, as well as working as an on-call studio and fill-in musician during his time in California.
One of the highlights of his career was playing with the influential alt-country band, Whiskey Road, while back in his hometown of Rochester. Currently, Charlie continues to make music with several bands, including Peacemaker, the Surrey Hill Band, and the Steven-Wayne Band. The latter has special significance for him as it has reunited him with his long-time collaborator and friend, Steve Wheeler. Charlie’s passion for music remains unwavering, reflecting his dedication to his craft and the joy he finds in collaborating with fellow musicians.
